Color Within the Cracks

Sippie Niles is a Mississippi-born, D.C.-based multidisciplinary artist and voting rights advocate. Her work lives at the intersection of memory, music, and Black womanhood, and revolutionary art, shaped by a life of movement between the Deep South, South Florida, and the nation's capital.

 

Through colorful paintings, writings, and song, Sippie channels the spirit of soul as a revolutionary way of bearing witness. 

 

In every piece, she honors the cracks, the legacy, and the voices often left out of the frame.
